Our Facilities
Since its inception, Pinelands High School has striven to provide its pupils and staff with the best possible facilities, and over the years, much has been added to the school. In the last three years, we have built a mini-astroturf, completely renovated our school library and upgraded many of our classrooms. During the latter part of 2011, two of our science laboratories were completely renovated.
All our classrooms have internet access and are fitted with data projectors, and we have two computer laboratories. Specialist technology includes:
- Interactive whiteboards in one maths classroom, one Natural Science laboratory and one Life Sciences laboratory
- Tablet computers in all the maths and maths literacy classrooms
- Autocad in our Engineering Graphics and Design classroom
- Proscope in a Life Sciences laboratory
- Digital microscopes and document cameras in all Life Sciences and Natural Sciences laboratories
- Three digital projectors in the Kent Hall
Other facilities include:
Kent Hall - this hall can hold the entire school, and is used for school assemblies, general meetings and drama productions. It has excellent sound and lighting equipment.
Reeler Centre - a recently renovated resource, the Reeler Centre plays an important role in enhancing information literacy among our pupils. With 15 internet-enabled computers and a library containing thousands of books, our pupils are able to conduct research as part of their curriculum requirements. The Reeler Centre also provides a warm, inviting venue for pupils to be during breaks and after school. Attached to the Reeler Centre is a coffee shop called "Page Break", which is open to the public. An inviting courtyard with giant chess set completes our Reeler Centre development.
Computer Centre - there are two computer rooms, with over 30 computers in each.
Art Rooms - we have a number of art venues at the school, which include an Art Room, Textile Design Centre and a Ceramics Room with firing kiln.
