The annual One-Act Play Festival is a production that stages plays written/sourced and directed by the learners. It takes place at the beginning of the fourth term, over two evenings, and is open to all grades except Matrics.
All learners are invited to submit a script(s) during the first week of the third term. The four chosen plays, along with their respective directors are announced soon thereafter. The criteria for a successful One-Act play is that it is less than 25 minutes in duration and has a small cast (usually not more than 12 characters). Learners are not allowed to participate in more than two plays (one lead role and one supporting). On both nights, a panel of judges (one staff member and an outside guest) will choose winners in the following categories:
Best Actor
Best Actress
Best Supporting Actor
Best Supporting Actress
Best Cameo
Best Costumes/Sets/Props
Best Director
Best Play
Best Script
Best use of Special Effects
The One-Act Play Festival, a very popular evening in our calendar, is enjoyed and supported thoroughly by the learners and the broader community.
