Our theme for Cabaret 2010 is MIXING IT UP! In this year's show, audience members will be exposed to a wide variety of songs and dance routines from all genres, ranging from hip-hop, R 'n B, rock, jazz, disco, musicals and even classical. Some of the songs featured are chart-topping artists such as Avril Lavigne, Chris Brown, Jordan Sparks, Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Rihanna, Neyo, Linkin Park, Justin Timberlake and many more. We also feature songs from musicals such as Phantom of the Opera and Dreamgirls.
In the past, the Pinelands High Cabaret has performed at many concerts on both Provincial and National stages, such as the Hermanus Whale Festival and the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown. In 2009 we achieved highest honours at the Cape Town Eisteddfod.
For this year's Cabaret, there are 16 members who have gone through a rigorous audition process and have spend many hours on various solo, ensemble and group items. MIXING IT UP! will take place from 18 to 23 March 2010 at 19:00, in the Kent Hall. Tickets for most performances will be R50 per person. The Gala Evening, which includes a three-course meal will be R150 per person. The performance on Monday 22 March will be a special "student" night, with tickets at R40 per person.
