The Pinelands High Seeds Project is an annual initiative designed to promote entrepreneurship and to raise funds for the school.
All Grade 8 and 9 learners are expected to start a small business, and to pay to the school the profits they have made from the business. Learners are given R50 "seed capital" with which to start their businesses.
The Seeds Project is run by the Economic and Management Sciences Department. Learners will have to complete certain assessments as part of their Seeds Project, and these will form part of the learner's final marks for the year.
The assessments and due dates are as follows:
Business Plan (due date Tuesday 21 April 2009)
Banking simulation exercise (date to be advised)
Presentation (3 - 17 June 2009)
Final simulation sheet to be handed in as evidence of activities completed during the year (due date Wednesday 5 August 2009)
