Pinelands High School offers a broad academic curriculum and demonstrates consistency in achieving academic excellence. Facilities include well-equipped science laboratories; art, graphics and ceramics rooms; a computer centre and active media centre and library; and a music wing. The school has a proud cultural tradition, with annual school productions, and regular art exhibitions and music performances. On the sporting front, Pinelands High offers good sporting facilities; apart from extensive sports grounds, the school has a swimming pool, indoor sports hall, tennis, netball and basketball courts.
Pinelands High School is perhaps one of the most successful examples of transformation in the South African schooling system. Transformation has been both socio-political and educational, seen in the implementation of outcomes based education. The school actively practises racial and gender tolerance and acceptance, and prides itself on providing its learners with the opportunities that prepare them to make a successful contribution to South Africa.
Apart from its academic, sporting and cultural offerings, Pinelands High School provides learners with the opportunity to be involved in the management of the school as coucillors, peer helpers or custodians.
