Pinelands High School presents its annual drama production, "Rebecca", based on the novel by Daphne du Maurier.
The heroine of "Rebecca", who is never named in the novel, is working as a lady's companion when she meets the wealthy widower Max de Winter. His sudden marriage proposal takes her by surprise, but she accepts, and returns with Max to his home, the ominous Manderley. Here, the second Mrs de Winter is confronted by constant reminders of Max's first wife, the beautiful Rebecca, whose memory is kept alive by the forbidding Mrs Danvers ...
"Rebecca" will be performed in the Kent Hall, PHS, from Wednesday 28 July to Sunday 1 August at 19:30. There will also be a matinee performance at 14:30 on Sunday 1 August.
Tickets will be available from the school bookshop from Tuesday 20 July 2010.
